Q: Our faculty for a new Master's program doesn't all have PhDs. Is this an issue?

For Master's and especially Doctoral programs, a strong preference is for faculty (and certainly program directors) to hold a degree at least equivalent to or higher than the one being offered. While not every single faculty member might need a PhD, the overall academic body must demonstrate high-level expertise and postgraduate qualifications relevant to the program. Exceptions for directors in emerging fields require strong individual CV justification. Aim for the highest qualified team you can assemble, with a clear justification for any exceptions.
